How to Remain Strong in Faith

If you watch baseball, you have probably noted how hard it is for a player to make a successful base hit. Most players who are experts in the game will do an average of three base hits for every ten attempts. This is a low conversion rate yet it doesn’t deter the players from trying the difficult exercise. This manifests an immense belief in being successful in something that has a higher probability of failing than succeeding. Similarly, we are expected to have faith in Godly things that we have not yet witnessed. Like the baseball players keep trying multiple times with no success, we should labor in striving to align ourselves with God at all times without giving up.

Faith is the fuel that is meant to keep us going at all times in this sinful world that is full of disappointments. We have to keep our faith strong, and the reward is conceivable to only those who believe in God. The following are some of the guidelines that will help any individual to become an heir of the ultimate prize that is promised to the faithful:

1. Take time to heal

Every person experiences a dip in faith at some point in life. This is brought about by harsh life experiences and situations that tend to shake one's faith. At the lowest moment, everyone may crumble and do things that reduce his/her faith in God. However, this is not right. When you feel sad and depressed because of a situation, first acknowledge it. After you accept your state, seek God to help you overcome it. Trying to rush the healing process will leave you more depressed and disappointed, and your faith will get compromised. Accept your situation and take time to rectify it.

At such a moment you can try reading the Bible or some inspirational books. You can also read the SDA Bible commentary online from wherever you are. This ebook contains numerous examples of individuals who were encountered by hardships, but they held onto their faith.

2. Be patient

The most significant element that every believer should possess is faith. This is because faith enables us to accept the things that are unknown. Patience runs out especially when one is uncertain of the future. In this moment of uncertainty, you may find yourself doing extreme things that compromise your faith in a bid to rescue the situation. However, what this will bring is further disappointments especially if the case cannot be instantly rectified. You can save yourself all this hassle by remaining patient even when the future appears bleak. This way your faith shall stay intact. Once you overcome the hard situation, your faith will grow stronger since you have experienced the power of God in changing conditions.

3. Know how to rebound

Experiencing ups and downs is the order of life. We are ever getting swayed until at some points we feel hopeless. Our deep faith in God is dealt a killer blow in such situations. However, what matters is how we respond to the hard circumstances. When you find yourself at an emotional low point, you should strive to recollect yourself back to your usual self. This is only possible if you look back at the numerous things that God has done for you in the past. A faithful person will always bank on God to bail him/her in any situation as he has done in other times. Therefore, look back at the smallest things that God did for you. Believe in him and your condition will be rectified.

We have a duty of casting our eyes to God whenever we need something. We should do so even when the things that we want seem impossible to attain. This deep faith is what was portrayed by the Bible legends like Abraham and Moses when hard situations confronted them. With faith, we can lead a happy life despite the hardships of the world.
